As we enter our 16th year as a social enterprise, January has been an incredibly busy and important time for us. We have been investing in modifying and updating our building to ensure it continues to meet the needs of the people and communities we support. This significant investment reflects our long-term commitment to providing high-quality, inclusive work experience opportunities.
Over the years, we have proudly welcomed students and participants from a wide range of organisations, including Ysgol Bro Dinefwr – Canolfan Cothi, Victoria House, Glasallt Fawr, Elidyr Communities Trust, Ysgol Penmaes, Coleg Sir Gâr Ammanford, Clynsaer House and Cartref Croeso. Supporting learners from diverse backgrounds has always been at the heart of our social purpose.
Previously, limited space meant we could support only three to four students at a time, alongside their support staff. By running both morning and afternoon sessions, we were able to work with up to 40 individuals across a full week, but demand regularly exceeded what our facilities could comfortably accommodate.
Following this major investment, we are delighted to have completed a brand-new work experience room that can comfortably seat up to 10 people. The new space is brighter, more practical, and designed to create a positive and supportive working environment, enabling us to increase capacity while improving the quality of the experience for everyone involved.
We can’t wait to welcome students back in February and show them the changes. This investment has been a substantial one for us as a social enterprise, but we firmly believe it will make a lasting difference to the people we support and the opportunities we are able to offer as we move forward into our 16th year.
